Love the look of this jewelry made from recycled plastic, designed by Rebecca Crawford at Spacefruit. But what’s liked even more is that Ms. Crawford found the plastic washed up on beaches. She also designs jewelry made from old shampoo bottles. A portion of the sales go to Surfers Against Sewage.

Some of these are pretty obvious, such as DVDs or books, but things like jewelry are a huge one. I saved a lot of money knowing an amateur jeweler who bought my wife’s diamond on the open market, and then put it in a setting that I picked out.
